Job Description: Security Bank Protection Officer - Armed

Position Overview

The Security Bank Protection Officer - Armed is responsible for maintaining a secure environment within the bank premises, ensuring the safety of employees, customers, and assets. This role requires a highly trained individual who can respond effectively to security threats, manage emergency situations, and enforce bank policies and procedures. The officer will work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the bank premises, monitoring for suspicious activities or security breaches. Utilize surveillance equipment to ensure all areas are secure.

  • Access Control: Monitor and control access to the bank, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas. Verify identification and maintain visitor logs.

  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including theft, vandalism, or disturbances. Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

  • Incident Reporting: Document all incidents and security breaches in detailed reports. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including unusual occurrences and safety hazards.

  • Customer Service: Provide assistance to customers and employees, addressing their concerns and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Promote a positive image of the bank through professional conduct.

  • Training and Compliance: Stay current with security protocols, procedures, and relevant laws. Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance security skills and knowledge.

  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with bank management and staff to develop and implement security policies and procedures. Collaborate with local law enforcement and community organizations to enhance security measures.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that security equipment, including firearms, surveillance cameras, and alarms, are maintained and operational. Report any malfunctions or needed repairs promptly.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security, law enforcement, or related fields is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in security, law enforcement, or military service. Experience in a banking environment is a plus.

  • Licensing: Must possess a valid armed security guard license and any required state certifications. Must be able to legally carry a firearm.

  • Skills: Strong observational skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities. Proficient in the use of security technology and equipment.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and respond quickly to emergencies. Must be physically fit to handle potentially dangerous situations.

  • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.

Work Environment

The Security Bank Protection Officer will work primarily within the bank premises, which may include indoor and outdoor environments. The role may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the bank's operational needs.
